Snow Part II

It IS Alaska, and we’ve had a good deal of snow and wind continuing from last week until yesterday. Today seemed relatively quiet without the wind blowing. It’s hard to tell how much snow there is, but we’re saying a conservative estimate is 3-4 feet on the level. The wind has whipped up some big drifts around town…

Tuesday will be the first of March, and you know what that means… the Iditarod Sled Dog Race begins next Saturday.

What will the weather be like for the dogs and mushers?

  1. How interesting it would be if Hans had some ice worms working in his window snow bank! At breakfast this morning we had big beautiful snowflakes falling as the sun shone brightly. Interesting!

  2. Wow!! I can’t even imagine! I’d be afraid of getting stuck inside…does that happen?

  3. Are the dogs that you cared for racing in the Iditarod?
